The ICB Sample Preparation Service is a support unit that provides a wide range of installations and devices for preparation of samples for different types of analysis, according to international rules. This laboratory supports to ICB researches, OPIS and universities, as well as companies and individuals. The techniques available are:
- Mills, crushers, etc.
- Cryogenic mill.
- Granulometric analysis, between 100 microns and 2.5 cm., with certified sieves.
Metal vapor synthesis (MVS) apparatus for the preparation of size-controlled homo- and hetero-nanostructured metal particles, starting from metal vapours as reagents.
This technique can be used for the synthesis of active metal nanoparticles (Pd, Cu, Ag, Au, Fe, Co, Ni, Rh, Pt, …) highly dispersed onto a wide range of inorganic, organic and polymeric supports without activation/reduction steps before use.
